Electronic Arts release of “Battlefield 1” is changing the way players view first person shooters. For years Electronic Arts and developer DICE have been making the Battlefield series and Battlefield 1 is their latest installment in the franchise. Although EA and DICE have done well with this series they have for the most part been living in the shadow of “Call of Duty” who has been the leader in first person shooter games for over a decade. Over the years both Battlefield and Call of Duty have been the leaders in creating futuristic warfare games. However, this year with the release of Battlefield 1, EA has decided to go against the trend of futuristic warfare and has taken it all the way back to WWI. This has worked wonders for them in trying to set themselves apart from the Call of Duty crowd. Battlefield 1 offers gamers a first person shooting experience that hasn’t been seen in the video game industry in a long time. The EA marketing department has done a really good job getting people excited for the new game. They use mostly television and online video ads but they do a really fantastic job of showing off the beauty of the game. Below I will share with you guys the trailer they released for the game to give you all a glimpse at what the game is about. EA also created a website for the game which is great for anyone who wants to know more information. They have even created a community for the game so people can share with one another information about the game and help each other out. The game has just come out recently, October 21, 2016, and in its first week of sales has already sold one million copies. That’s very impressive for a game that has more many years been the younger brother of a huge franchise. It was nice to see the game’s marketers head in a different direction with this installment.
