Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week I will be sharing with you what I think the next generation of advertising will be like in the video game industry. The idea for my prediction stems for an area in the video game industry that I believe is going to greatly expand over the next fear years. The area that I believe is going to expand is virtual reality systems that are portable for consumers. Currently companies like Samsung and Oculus Rift have created virtual reality devices that are very good and well-liked by consumers. So as these devices continue to develop they will only get better and more available to the public. At that point I predict that video game advertisements will develop into fully interactive scenarios where a person can see first- hand (through virtual reality) the type of experience they will get with purchasing a certain game. They will be able to preview a product by placing themselves directly into the environment created by the developers. It would be a great way to get the consumer’s attention and the ad could have a great impact on everyone who views it even just one time. Advertisers could get information on the type of content purchased with each person’s specific virtual reality device so they could target people with similar interests for certain games. If I were working with an advertisement company I would start figuring out how to create an interactive ad for virtual reality devices as they continue to grow and develop. This will put you ahead of the curve in an industry that I think is rapidly growing. By taking advantage of this opportunity you could be the pioneers of a new type of advertising.
