Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week I will be sharing a new trend that video game companies are starting to use in order to better market their brand. The new trend video game developers are using to market their games is to release a live action video of their game. These videos are usually really well done and can range from one minute to four minutes in length. Since the length of these videos is generally long, they are not normally seen on television and are most often seen on social media sites and especially YouTube. What really makes these videos unique is the fact that they use live-action footage which is action involving real people or animals, as contrasted with animation or computer generated effects. This is what really makes the video stand out and is why companies are starting to use this method because it puts the viewer directly in the video game as if they were seeing how it would be in real life. Naturally companies have found a bunch of creative ways to make these types of videos more engaging. For instance, Call of Duty, likes to put celebrities and other public figures in their live action videos to make it more appealing for a greater audience. Other companies have even hired well-known actors to play characters in their live action videos. I think these types of videos that companies are putting out are really great for their brand. They are really engaging for the consumer and much more fun to watch than a traditional video game advertisement.
